What Is Grief

Grief is a universal human experience, for every relationship ends in loss.

Grief is a process of accepting the reality of the loss.

Grief is the name we give to the complicated set of emotions involved in loss. These emotions include sadness, fear, anger, anxiety, rage, panic, guilt, and many others.

Grief is an organic, natural process experienced physically, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually.  It takes time, and cannot be rushed.

In the words of Stephen Fleming, “Grief is the process of moving from losing what we have to having what we lost.”
