CREATING AWARENESS WITH MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness helps us to see ourselves with greater clarity. We are not just experiencing something, a part of us watches as we experience. It is as if we have a compassionate witness to observe our thoughts, feelings & actions. Mindfulness helps us gain awareness in the moment, so that we can see ourselves and thus know ourselves better.

  • Mindfulness teaches us to focus on the present moment, rather than reliving the past or pre-living the future.
  • Mindfulness helps to halt the escalation of negative thoughts.
  • With mindfulness we learn to watch ourselves without judgment or impatience, with compassion and perspective much as the ‘good mother’ would watch her child. 
  • Mindful awareness helps us face difficulties in ways that lead to inner peace & harmony.
  • We learn to stay present with our feelings without shutting down, running away or acting out by riding the rough waves of emotion; on the surfboard of mindful awareness.
  • With mindfulness we observe what is & watch it as it changes.
  • We learn to feel without judgment things just are rather than good or bad.
  • We listen to our heart with acceptance & mercy.
  • Mindfulness helps us accept our grief and therefore learn to live with grief.
